Mount Tremper, home of Zen Mountain Monastery, is also called Tenkozan or “Heavenly Light Mountain.” This incense, made in Japan exclusively for The Monastery Store, will evoke images of the Monastery zendo in the early morning as a group of practitioners silently welcomes the dawn of a new day. Seito is Japanese for “Sacred Way.” This classic aloeswood incense has sweet overtones—like the smell of a cool, early summer morning.
One box of 90 short sticks with 25-minute burn time.
Also available as part of our Zen Signature Sampler.
My new favorite incense. Also the package is a calm delight to the eyes. A very nice way to greet the morning.
I've tried many different types and blends of incense, but this particular one has a refreshing and unique scent, will be buying more in the future!
Deep, woodsy and earthy, can't have enough of this incense...
As a practitioner and incense user, this product is truly great. Woody spice, mild and sweet, not a flowery or perfumed type of incense by any means. If you are looking for flowers this is not the incense for you. We use it during morning offerings and as desired during the day to shift the energy and atmosphere of our center. It is not overpowering and is mild. Sticks burn down evenly and moderately in 25 mins or less. This appears to be a more pure and much less smokey incense than the traditional tibetan style incense that we also use.
