Wabi-Sabi is one of the very few Japanese incenses to combine the ingredients of Reiryo-koh and Kansho. The result is boldly pungent and woody. As it's name suggests, there is something familiar and fleetingly powerful about the aroma.
Some deeper information about the origins of this unique incense:
Lysimachiae herba (Reiryo-koh) is native to northern regions of South America; the sensoric qualities of this plant range from subtle-sweet to spicy.
Spikenard (Kansho), a root which offers a sweet, woody scent, has been used as a spice for centuries. An ingredient of traditional Japanese incense, Spikenard is mainly produced in China, the Himalayas, and the mountains of northeast India.
The Wabi-Sabi package is a convenient slim style with a removable sleeve over a handsome gold box, and is attractive enough to give as a gift.
