The grace and precision of the liturgy of oryoki helps us to be present for all aspects of a meal. This five-bowl set, made from high-grade Bakelite, is used in Japanese Zen temples where a flat-bottomed "Buddha-bowl" is the tradition. (At other temples, the largest bowl is rounded on the bottom.) The bowls come with a dark blue cloth placemat (wrapping cloth), lap napkin, wiping cloth, and utensil holder, plus a wooden spoon and chopstick set.
There are three scraper options, depending on your preference: traditional setsu, wooden paddle, and silicon spatula. Email customerservice@dharma.net to let us know which type you would like to be shipped with your oryoki set.
Hand wash to preserve your bowls and utensils.
Largest bowl has 5" diameter.
