Collection: Kuanyin & Kannon Statues
Kannon, or Kuanyin, is the bodhisattva of compassion—known in male form as Avalokitehvara or Chenrezig. Kuanyin's name means "the one who hears the cries of the world." Sometimes a Kuanyin statue is depicted with a thousand hands and eleven heads. This is because it's said her head split open ten times in succession when she saw the suffering of the world, and Amitabha gave her one extra head and many arms in order to save all suffering sentient beings.
Our Kuanyin statues come in a variety of sizes and poses so that you can find the altar statue that resonates with the quality you aspire to embody—seated in zazen, dispensing medicine to heal suffering, or regal and composed in the "royal ease" posture.
